The Unbroken Spirit: Supporting Hai’s Journey to a Brighter Future

At Eye Will, we believe that resilience deserves a chance. Today, I want to share the story of Nguyen Manh Hai, a 17-year-old student whose life has been a series of immense challenges, yet whose spirit remains undimmed.

Hai’s journey began with profound loss. At just four years old, he lost his father to a labor accident. Soon after, his mother, struggling with mental illness, wandered away and passed away. After living with a grandmother who was too poor to care for all her grandchildren and losing an older brother to another tragic accident, Hai and his brother Hoang were sent to an orphanage in 2014.

In 2025, life presented another hurdle: the orphanage dissolved due to administrative changes. Hai now lives with his aunt in a remote mountainous area, commuting an hour each way to attend the Quang Tri Continuing Education Center. Despite his aunt’s own health struggles and their limited resources, Hải refuses to give up.

Hai is more than his hardships. He is a vibrant young man who loves volleyball and dreams of following his brother into the hospitality industry. To help him cross the finish line of high school, Eye Will is proud to provide Hai with a monthly scholarship of 40 USD.

This scholarship will support his daily expenses and school supplies until he completes the 12th grade. Our goal is to provide the stability he needs to focus on his studies and eventually enroll in professional training to break the cycle of poverty for good.
